Julión Alvarez y Su Norteño Banda are a regional Mexican band from the state of Sinaloa. Born on April 11, 1983, Alvarez is the frontman. Associated with the Universal Latino subsidiary label Machete Music, Alvarez y Su Norteño Banda experienced commercial success with their debut full-length release on the label, Corazón Mágico (2007). The album features the regional Mexican hit "Las Mulas de Moreno." In the wake of this success, a pair of live albums by Alvarez y Su Norteño Banda was released: Desde Mazatlan: A Mover el Culito (2008) was released by Machete Music while Cumbia del Río (2008), an odd album comprised of live recordings plus three versions of the title track, was released by Disa.
