Canadian opera tenor Marc Hervieux is a successful international performer and recording artist. A native of Montreal, Hervieux grew up in working class family, and by his teens was living on his own and earning his degree in graphic arts. Although he always loved singing, Hervieux eventually founded the graphic arts firm L'image de Marc, choosing to sing with pop bands and appear in amateur musicals on the side. It was after winning an audition to sing excerpts from Mozart's Don Giovanni for a local theater company that Hervieux decided to pursue opera professionally. With his graphic arts firm paying for his education, Hervieux enrolled at Le Conservatoire de Musique du Quebec a Montreal, and spent seven years earning his music degree. Since turning professional, Hervieux has performed around the world, appearing on stages in Quebec, Seoul and even at New York's Metropolitan Opera. He has worked in both operas and musicals, and has appeared in such productions as Starmania, The Man of La Mancha, Hair and others. As a recording artist, Hervieux has also taken an eclectic path, releasing an album of Neapolitan songs, a holiday album, and a disc of standards, along with several opera albums.
