Frank Caliendo was born on January 19, 1974, in Chicago, Illinois. He started touring with his stand-up routine after college and within a short time became the headliner at a local comedy club. Within years of starting his career, Caliendo was starring on the network television series Hype. After a year on that show, he joined the hit sketch series MADtv, where he performed his well known John Madden and George W. Bush impersonations, among others. He stayed with the show for six years and now hosts his own eponymous sketch show, Frank TV. Also in 2001, Caliendo became a guest to NFL Sunday prognosticator Jimmy Kimmel and later took Kimmel's place. On the show, he frequently impersonates the cast, including John Madden. Besides his full time work, Caliendo has performed his impersonations on both the Premium Blend and Presents series on Comedy Central, many of the late-night network talk shows, and numerous radio shows, including Howard Stern. He was also the guest comic for the 2007 White House Press Correspondents Dinner.

Over the years, Frank Caliendo has created impersonations that feature many personalities from the acting, sports, political, and fictional worlds. Caliendo has accumulated dozens of impressions, including Al Gore, Robert De Niro, James Gandolfini (and his Sopranos character Tony Soprano), Terry Bradshaw, and William Shatner. However, his most well known are that of Bill Clinton, George Bush, John Madden, and William Shatner, from his work on NFL Sunday and Dish Network commercials. He has also impersonated fellow stand-up comedians Robin Williams, Jerry Seinfeld, and Ray Romano. With a nearly endless supply of celebrity personalities to choose from, Frank Caliendo has developed himself into one of the premiere comedic impressionists of the last ten years.

Artist Info

Frank Caliendo is an impressionist loved by David Letterman, Bob & Tom, and many other television hosts, although John Madden is definitely not on the list. Born in Chicago, IL, and raised in Waukesha, WI, Caliendo played comedy clubs until 2000, when he joined the WB television network's sketch comedy show Hype. When the show was canceled in 2001, he followed fellow cast member Daniele Gaither to Fox's MADtv, where he would add new life to the show with his impressions of George W. Bush and John Madden. It was the latter who caught the attention of David Letterman, the late-night television host who invited Caliendo onto his show in 2002 just as the impressionist was releasing his debut album, Make the Voices Stop. It was the first of many appearances on Letterman's show, but radio kept Caliendo even busier with Bob & Tom, Opie & Anthony, Howard Stern, and many other morning jocks all calling upon the impressionist. Two volumes of his Frank on the Radio CDs sourced from these radio appearances were released in 2003, which was the same year he replaced Jimmy Kimmel on the Fox television network's NFL Sunday. In 2007 he left MADtv and landed his own sketch show on the TBS cable network called Frank TV. That same year the network introduced Caliendo with the special All Over the Place, which was released on DVD and CD in 2008 on the Warner Bros. label.
